A TracFone Promo Code Tip That I Often Forget

Something to remember about TracFone promo codes, though I often forget this myself, is that a code for a smaller card will normally work on a larger card.

Why does this matter?  Because codes for smaller cards sometimes give more free airtime minutes than do codes for larger cards.

For example, let's say Joe Frugal wants to add a 120 minute card to his TracFone. He could use 52713 - 30 bonus minutes on a 120 minute card, or he could use 14938 - 60 free minutes on a 60 minute card.

Joe gets out his calculator and figures out that 60 is more than 30, and being the frugal money saver that he is, Joe decides to use 14938 when adding the airtime to his phone.

Nothing ever seems absolute with TracFone promo codes, so I'll hasten to say that you can normally only use a promo code once per phone, and it's not guaranteed that a code will work on a larger card.  This tip should, however, work most of the time so it's definitely worth a try.

Here are some new bonus codes for this week:

Also, the TracFone website is still offering the standard DMFL card for $24.99 (reg. $49.99), and the 1-year 800 minute DMFL card for $124.99 (reg. $134.99). I'm starting to think that this may become the permanent price for these cards, but I can't say for sure.

You don't need a promo code to get those prices, but try using 51540 to get 50 free minutes with the standard DMFL card or using 51578 to get 200 free minutes on the 1-year DMFL card.

• Codes will typically work on larger cards than the one listed, but not smaller.
