When it comes time to upgrade your TracFone, you want to be sure to transfer your minutes and airtime from your current phone to your new phone. Here's how to do it.
First, you have to buy your new TracFone. You can click here to buy a new phone on the TracFone website, or you can buy it at a local store. I always check the website first, because they often have deals going where you can get a free phone with the purchase of an airtime card. Here's a couple of examples:
OK, once you have your new TracFone, you can port your number and minutes from your old phone during the activation process of the new phone.
On the homepage of www.tracfone.com there will be a button over on the right that says Activate Phone. Hover your mouse pointer over the box, and it will show you the option to Activate/Reactivate or Transfer Number.
It doesn't seem to matter which one you click, because they both take you to the same page where you have the option to activate your TracFone with a new number, Transfer your number from one TracFone to another, or transfer a number from another company.
Then at the bottom of that page, you select the model of your new phone and click submit.
It then takes you to a similar page where you choose your current TracFone, and then to a page where you either sign in or register an account.
Here's a tip: If you don't want to register an account with TracFone, you can click on the Register button and then scroll all the way to the bottom of the next page and click on the Skip This Step link. That will let you progress without registering an account.
Once you've either signed in, registered, or skipped the registration, it will take you to a page that has you enter info about your old phone and your current phone.
From there, it follows the standard activation process, and when it's all done, your minutes and phone number from your old phone are on your new phone!
It's important to remember that this will deactivate your old phone (you can always reactivate it later), and sometimes it can take a few hours up to a few days for the number to transfer to your new phone. If you are expecting an important phone call, be sure make arrangements where you can be reached at alternate number in case this process takes longer than expected.
The upgrade process is not that hard once you step through it, and here's a summary of how to transfer the phone number and minutes from one TracFone to another.
- Buy your new phone either on the TracFone Online Store or a retailer
- Go to www.trafone.com and click the Activate Phone link
- Select the option to transfer the number and service from one TracFone to another
- Identify the model of your current phone and your new phone
- Enter the phone number of your current TracFone and the serial number of both your current and new phones
- Follow the steps to finish the normal activation process
I hope this helps!
So with that, a page to donate to AIDS/Life Cycle has been set up. It's not so much about extending the joke, but more of a challenge to those who found solace or joy in sharing a moment with a reconnected friend
